A United States Powerlifting Association(USPA) officially sanctioned POWERLIFTING MEET where you can set state and even NATIONAL records in the Squat, Bench Press, Deadlift and Total of all three lifts.
This full power meet will be taking place in congruence with the annual Strength Camp Challenge at the 70,000 Sq Ft Tampa Convention Center arena.
Be prepared to compete at a FIRST CLASS meet in a TOP NOTCH venue.
The overall winner for the Men and Women's classes (by standard Wilks Formula) will receive (at minimum) $250 in prize money. Prizes also will be awarded for best single lifts of the day for both men and women.
Got a big bench, but your squat is lagging? You still have a chance to walk away a winner!
Distinct from weightlifting, a sport made up of two lifts: the Snatch and the Clean-and-Jerk, powerlifting comprises three lifts: the Squat, Bench Press and Deadlift. Athletes are categorized by sex, age and bodyweight. Each competitor is allowed three attempts at each lift, the best lift in each discipline being added to their total. The lifter with the highest individual lift or total (in a full power class) is the winner. In cases where two or more lifters achieve the same total, the person with the lightest bodyweight wins.
